The hotel/restaurant is located in Corbion-sur-Semois (7 minutes from Bouillon) in the very heart of the Belgian Ardennes , 5 minutes from France and less than an hour from Luxembourg !

Paul Verlaine also stayed there around 1885.

Corbion is a typical Semois valley village, only a stone’s throw from the French border.  Its coat of arms consists of two crossed pistols in memory of their inventor, Sébastien de Corbion, alias Sebastian “Pistol”. 

At an altitude of 400m, Corbion has a unique 70km network of signposted walks (350 signposts), leading to 8 fantastic viewpoints, including the “Chaire à Prêcher” (preacher’s chair), the “Tombeau du Géant” (giant’s tomb), the “Pic du Diable” (devil’s pinnacle) and the “Rocher du Pendu “ (hangman’s rock).   And the GR 14 (long-distance hiking path) goes right past Le Relais !

The immediate area offers a host of activities and interesting places to visit…

On the Belgian side, there is the tobacco museum in Corbion,..

7 km away (Bouillon) is a medieval castle featuring a raptor ballet spectacle, ducal museum and archeoscope.

The castle is entered over three drawbridges. The main courtyard then leads to the ducal palace with its 13th century Salle Godefroy de Bouillon.

And in the surrounding area: the abbeys of Cordemoy and Orval, the Saint-Hubert basilica, the flat-bottomed barge trip between Chiny and La Cuisine, the Alle and Bertrix slate quarries,  the Han-sur-Lesse caves, the Saint-Hubert hunting museum, the  Saint-Michel furnace, the Florenville panoramic viewpoint, the village of Livre de Redu and the Euro Space Centre.

On the French side, 18 km away in Sedan, stands the largest fortified castle in Europe, with its historium…

And in the surrounding area: the 12th century Gothic cathedral at Avioth, the Villy-de-Ferté fort, the Maginot line, the Charleville-Mezières Ducal Palace and Rimbaud museum,  the Mouzon felt museum, Montmédy, the Citadelle and the Verdun battle fields,  Reims, with its cathedral and mushroom caves…

In terms of sporting activities, the Ardennes offers everything :

from walking, kayaking, and pedalos in summer, through mountain-biking, riding in the Ardennes forest, deltaplaning, and paragliding to cross-country skiing in winter.  The many nearby waterways are a delight for fishermen.

For those who wish to kayak down the river, there is a free shuttle service that picks you up outside our inn and drops you off afterwards (a distance of 4 to 15 km).

In terms of sporting activities, the Ardennes offers everything.

Other activities available nearby include swimming in the Semois river, swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, mini-golf, etc.  For those who love thrills there is karting at Bouillon, less than 7 minutes away, and of course we mustn’t forget to mention Semois Aventures (Semois adventures) !
